This little quarry town, about a half an hour south of Denver, has come a long way since its inception in 1878. Community

This little municipality, with a current population of just over 65k people, is nestled halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs. The town, located on the foothills of the great Rocky Mountains, is just below a big beautiful rock that gives the town its name. Living here comes with all of the advantages of a small community but still places residents in close proximity to larger cities. Parks, golf courses, and the scenic Ridgeline Trail offer plenty of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

Livability

A little over five years ago Castle Rock also became home to the Outlets at Castle Rock. The Outlets are a modern outdoor shopping center with popular stores and restaurants. A nearby charming downtown area boasts more local shops and restaurants. This is also where the city hosts regular events and festivals including the annual Starlighting, at which a star is lit atop the city’s namesake rock. Activities around town also include an outdoor ice rink open in the winter months. In addition, many residents frequent the Miller Activity Complex where you can enjoy indoor pools, batting cages, and a children’s indoor playground.

The city is affordable & popular among families and young professionals. The median home price is $480k, according to Redfin. In addition, the city is located close to Interstate 25 and is a short commute to Denver’s Tech Center.
