While safer-at-home orders persist, we are all spending a lot more time at home. Of course all that extra time encourages us to look a little harder at our homes…all the parts we love but also some of the parts we don’t. This is a great opportunity to take advantage and tackle some of those home improvement projects you’ve been putting off. We’ve complied some great tips from RIS Media to help you get motivated and follow through.
Work Your Way Top to Bottom
Start with your ceilings then work your way down dusting shelves and vacuuming vents. Wipe down your crown molding, walls, and trim. Wash any removable curtains, change HVAC filters, etc. A good deep clean will give your home new life without requiring you to leave your home or spend a dime.
Take It One Room At A Time
Declutter, organize and clean your home one room at a time. Creating mini goals and being able to visualize your progress will help you stay focused and motivated as you attempt to tackle the whole house.
Plan Ahead
While now may not be the best time to start some of your bigger home improvement projects, (especially if they require a lot of supplies or contractors to be in and out of your home) it is a great time to plan them out. Your family’s particular needs are fresh in your mind and you have lots of time to discuss the project, research, make decisions, and think things through.
