With a median age of about 42 years old, Castle Pines attracts residents in all stages of life. The thriving metropolis of Denver is just 30 minutes away by car, and driving to Colorado Springs takes just under an hour, both via Interstate 25. Driving to the Denver International Airport takes about 40 minutes via the E-470 toll road. Many Castle Pines residents drive to the Denver Tech Center in nearby Greenwood Village for work each day, which is 12 miles (about 15 minutes) away. Another popular corporate hub is in Lone Tree, about 8 miles northeast of Castle Pines, which takes about 12 minutes to drive.

There are no high schools located in Castle Pines proper. The closest high school buildings are located in nearby Lone Tree (about five miles north) and Castle Rock (about six miles south).

A handful of private medical practices and family doctor offices are located in central Castle Pines, and there are two major medical centers located nearby. The Sky Ridge Medical Center is five miles north of Castle Pines in the neighboring community of Lone Tree and offers specialized care centers for cancer treatment, women’s health care, joint and spine treatment and an award-winning birthing center. The Castle Rock Adventist Hospital by Centura Health is about seven miles south of Castle Pines and provides the surrounding communities with emergency care as well as specialized birth and orthopedic facilities.

The 15-acre Coyote Ridge Park features baseball diamonds and a skate board park.
