Pandemic Friendly Holiday Shopping

Pandemic Friendly Holiday Shopping

As the nation experiences a resurgence of COVID that is possibly worse than what we endured last spring, we are all desperate to avert our attention. Alas, there is nothing like a little retail therapy, especially when the holidays are fast-approaching. To assist, we want to share a list from our friends at 5280 magazine of the best outdoor and virtual holiday markets to shop this season. Get in the spirit and stock up on the best local and hand-crafted gifts all from six feet away or even the comfort of your home.

Outdoor

16th Street Mall Holiday Festival

The blocks between Welton Street and Glenarm Place along 16th Street Mall are hosting vendor booths with hand-crafted, locally-sourced food and gifts through December. Near Union Station, explore the heart of Downtown for the holidays from a safe distance. View the brightly lit 110 ft Mile High Tree, take a guided Lights & Sights Walking Tour, or enjoy floats from the Annual Parade of Lights.

Cherry Creek Holiday Market

Fillmore Plaza in Cherry Creek will be lined with shipping containers in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Each with artisan gifts, food, libations, and live music. Vendors rotate weekly so you’ll find something new with each visit. Reservations are encouraged.

Corken & Company encourages you to stay safe and healthy this holiday season! We hope these events offer plenty of ways to soak up the holiday cheer from afar. In addition, we also encourage you to shop local. Many small shops, restaurants, and creators are bearing the brunt of the economic strain this pandemic has caused. As expected, these next few weeks are some of their busiest and most fruitful weeks of the year. Let’s try to ensure this year (at least in that regard) is no different. Remember, shop small and shop safely!
